The Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) has taken over the support role for the Green Infrasture Partnership (GIP). The GIP was launched in 2011 as part of HM Government’s Natural Environment White Paper commitments and under the auspices of Defra, created a forum for consolidating and building the required knowledge and skills for more green infrastructure at the local, city-wide and landscape scales. This led to a wide variety of projects being set up and developed – you can find out more at: http://ecosystemsknowledge.net/resources/tools-guidelines/green-infrastructure After two years, Defra’s involvement came to a close and the TCPA has now taken over the support role, if you would like to be involved, please contact them at: gip-uk@tcpa.org.uk
Membership of the partnership is still free and we encourage you to join us. The TCPA is exploring ways to fund the project and are delighted that The Landscape Institute has become the first sponsor. If you are interested in sponsoring the GIP, please contact the TCPA.
